Plainview · Terms
Plainview’s terms, in plain English.
These terms
These terms are an agreement between your business and That Other Agency Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16799053 (“we”), for using Plainview, our Shopify app. By installing Plainview you agree to them on behalf of your business, and you confirm you can make that decision for it.
Plainview is for businesses, not consumers. Shopify’s own terms, and the terms of each tool you connect, apply alongside these.
What Plainview does
Plainview reads orders from your Shopify store and reports from the tools you connect, such as Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok Ads, Klaviyo and Recharge, and shows them on one dashboard. It only reads. It never changes anything in your store or your accounts.
The figures come from those platforms. They can count sales differently, credit the same sale to more than one channel, change past figures as their attribution settles, or arrive late. Plainview shows what they report, and works out figures such as MER and cost per order from them. It is information to help you decide, not financial or business advice, and the decisions you make with it are yours.
Plans and billing
- The free plan is free. If we ever take a feature away from it, we will tell you in Plainview at least 30 days before.
- The paid plan has a monthly fee, shown on Plainview’s Shopify App Store listing and in the app before you choose it, plus any tax Shopify applies.
- Free trial. Your first 14 days on the paid plan are free, once per store. If you don’t cancel before the trial ends, the paid plan carries on and the fee starts.
- Billing. Shopify charges the fee on your Shopify bill every 30 days, and Shopify’s billing terms apply to the charge. We never see your card details.
- Cancelling. Cancel at any time by switching to the free plan or uninstalling Plainview. Shopify applies its own rules to any part of a month. Otherwise fees are not refundable, unless the law says they must be.
- Price changes. We will tell you in Plainview at least 30 days before a price rise, and you can cancel before it applies.
Your part
- Decide who in your business can open Plainview in your Shopify admin, and keep your logins to the tools you connect safe.
- Only connect accounts you are allowed to connect, and keep to the terms of each platform.
- Don’t misuse Plainview: no attempts to break it, overload it or get round its security, no copying or reselling it, and nothing unlawful.
Your data
Your data stays yours. You allow us to use it only to run Plainview for you, as our privacy policy explains. We never sell it, never share it with other merchants and never publish your figures.
Plainview keeps no details of your customers. Disconnecting a tool deletes what Plainview read from it straight away, and uninstalling deletes everything else, as deleting your data describes.
Our part
We run Plainview with reasonable care and skill, and fix problems as quickly as we reasonably can. We can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors, because it depends on Shopify, our hosting providers and the platforms you connect, which change their systems from time to time.
We keep improving Plainview, so features may change. If we ever close Plainview, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice in the app and stop charging you.
Who owns what
Your data, your brand and anything you type into Plainview remain yours. Plainview’s software, design and content belong to That Other Agency. While you have Plainview installed you may use it for your own business, and nothing else is transferred to you.
Liability
- Plainview reads from your tools, so it can only be as accurate as they are. We aren’t responsible for problems the platforms cause, such as an outage, a late report or a change they make without warning.
- We aren’t liable for indirect losses, or for lost profits, sales, data or opportunities, including losses from decisions made using Plainview.
- Our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the fees you paid for Plainview in the 12 months before the claim.
- Nothing in these terms limits any liability the law doesn’t allow us to limit, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Ending
You can stop using Plainview at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end your use of Plainview if you seriously break these terms, misuse it, or Shopify stops your store or our app, and we will tell you why where we can.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you in Plainview at least 30 days before it applies, and the date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. If you keep using Plainview after a change applies, the new terms apply to you.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute. If something goes wrong, please talk to us first at hello@thatotheragency.co.uk. Most things can be fixed with an email.
